HEART RATE MONITORS
A heart rate monitor is a personal monitoring device that allows you to measure your heart rate in real time and/or record your heart rate for later analysis. Many heart rate monitors also have cycle computer functions, displaying speed, distance, cadence etc. Your heart rate is arguably the most important information you get for training, giving you direct feedback as to how your body is responding. Your heart rate indicates the amount of stress on your body, and the amount of stress on your body is a major factor in what kind of fitness improvement you can expect. Heart rate can be measured in beats per minute or as a percentage of maximum too.
