The GU Roctane Energy Gel was created for daily training and competition. It has even more sodium than the original GU energy gel to increase hydration. It also has more branched-chain amino acids (leucine, valine, and isoleucine) that reduce mental fatigue and decrease muscle damage. The amino acid taurine maintains heart ability and improves cardiac output during long exercise sessions while the amino acid beta-alanine promotes the formation of the intramuscular buffer carnosine.
