Product Warranty Policy & Warranty Claim Procedure
1. Limited Warranty Coverage
MARVEL warrants that its products are free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal intended use, maintenance and storage conditions for a period of 12 months from the original retail purchase date.
This warranty applies only to the original purchaser and is non-transferable.
For the purposes of this warranty, a manufacturing defect means a fault in materials or workmanship present at the time of manufacture, as determined following technical inspection.
This warranty is provided in addition to, and does not limit, any rights available under applicable consumer protection legislation, including the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008.
2. Product Specific Warranty Coverage
2.1 Lights
Warranty covers manufacturing defects and electrical failures under normal riding and charging conditions.
Exclusions:
• Incorrect charging equipment
• Water ingress caused by misuse or exposure beyond product rating
• Crash damage
• Battery degradation through normal use
• Corrosion
• Cosmetic wear
• Unauthorized modification
2.2 Electric Pumps
Warranty covers manufacturing defects and electrical faults under intended use.
Exclusions:
• Incorrect charging equipment
• Over voltage damage
• Liquid damage
• Overheating due to misuse
• Battery degradation through normal use
• Improper storage
2.3 Hand Pumps
Warranty covers defects in workmanship and materials under intended use.
Exclusions:
• Excessive force
• Misuse
• Improper storage
• Modification
• Incorrect valve usage
2.4 Multi-tools & Workshop Tools
Warranty covers manufacturing defects only.
Exclusions:
• Rust from improper storage
• Excessive torque
• Commercial workshop abuse
• Stripped tool heads
• Impact damage
• Wear through repeated use
2.5 Pedals, Flat & Clipless
Warranty covers manufacturing defects affecting pedal body or axle.
Exclusions:
• Bearing wear through normal use
• Cleat wear
• Crash damage
• Improper installation
• Lack of servicing
• Mud contamination
• Corrosion
• Riding beyond intended application
2.6 Handlebar Tape & Grips
Warranty covers defects in materials or manufacturing only.
Exclusions:
• Normal wear
• UV degradation
• Installation damage
• Chemical exposure
• Crash damage
• Abrasion from use
2.7 Saddle Covers, Bags & Storage Accessories
Warranty covers defects in materials and stitching under normal use.
Exclusions:
• Abrasion
• Overloading
• Impact damage
• UV exposure
• Improper installation
• Misuse
2.8 Repair Kits & Consumables
Warranty applies only to manufacturing defects.
Consumable items excluded:
• Plug strips
• O rings
• Adhesives
• Rubber components
• Seals
• Cartridges
3. Product Care & Maintenance requirements
To maintain warranty eligibility, products must:
• Be used according to intended application
• Be installed according to supplied instructions or by suitably qualified personnel where applicable
• Be cleaned and maintained regularly
• Be stored in dry conditions away from excessive heat, moisture or corrosive environments
• Be serviced periodically where maintenance is required
Failure to perform reasonable care and maintenance may void warranty coverage.
Examples include:
Pedals:
Failure to service bearings or remove contamination
Lights:
Use of incorrect charging equipment or prolonged moisture exposure
Tools:
Storage in wet conditions resulting in corrosion
4. General Warranty Exclusions
Warranty does not cover:
• Normal wear and tear
• Misuse or neglect
• Improper installation
• Commercial, fleet or rental use
• Products modified by unauthorised persons
• Corrosion from coastal environments, humidity or poor storage
• Cosmetic damage not affecting function
• Consequential damages arising from product failure
• Products without valid proof of purchase
• Products purchased through unauthorised sellers
• Damage caused by transportation after purchase
• Damage resulting from accidents or impacts
5. Warranty Claim Procedure
To submit a warranty claim customers must provide:
• Proof of purchase
• Description of fault
• Product photographs were requested
• Supporting information regarding use and maintenance
Products may require physical inspection before warranty determination.
Assessment process:
Step 1:
Claim submitted with supporting documentation
Step 2:
Technical inspection conducted
Step 3:
Warranty determination made
Step 4:
Approved claim resolved through repair, replacement or credit
6. Claim Assessment Timeline
Initial assessment:
5 to 10 working days
Complex claims requiring inspection:
Up to 20 working days
Timelines may vary depending on technical review requirements and product availability.
7. Warranty Resolution
Approved claims may be:
• Repaired
• Replaced with equivalent product
• Credited where replacement unavailable
Resolution method determined following technical assessment.
Warranty replacements do not restart or extend the original warranty period.
8. Shipping & Freight
Approved claims:
Replacement freight covered by company.
Rejected claims:
Return freight may be charged to customer.
9. Limitation of Liability
MARVEL and associated distributors shall not be liable for indirect, consequential or incidental damages arising from product failure, misuse or improper installation.
10. Additional Terms
MARVEL reserves the right to amend this warranty policy from time to time.
Changes will not affect warranty claims relating to products purchased before amendment date.
This warranty applies only within regions where MARVEL products are officially distributed and supported.
