Riding a bicycle is so much fun, whether you are doing it for fitness, training, or just taking a ride out with your squad. But sometimes we may run into issues with our bikes, like maybe a chain link came loose, or there is a puncture, or you feel like your pedals need some adjustment. A bike tool kit is such a handy thing to have with you in these times.
A bike tool kit can come in all types of options, from simple essentials or vast arrays of everything you could possibly need. It can be a bit much to carry though, because you still need to think about all the other things you must carry, like a snack, water, C02 bombs if you have the relevant tyres, I know a friend who also likes to carry a spare shirt in case he falls really badly while mountain biking. The last thing you want when riding is to be held down by more weight, no matter how much it is.
Some common things to find in a rider’s bike tool kit are screw drivers, spare tubes, CO2 bombs, torque wrenches, pumps, pressure gauges, straps, or tyre levers, etc. Every rider is going to have preferences of what is essential to them and the type of riding they do. Some riders have the bare minimum like a kit that fits in the handlebar, while others will carry a whole bag of tools. At the end of the day, it all comes down to what you are comfortable and what makes you feel like you can go for a ride and not worry about anything else.
It is always a good idea to research your bike and its components before just buying tools, make sure you are buying the right tools. And try to always have it somewhere on you or your bike so it is secure and easy to access when you need it.
